Mt Whitney Pinnacles from Top - John Muir Trail
Looking S from the Mt Whitney summit across the Needles / Pinnacles. The John Muir Trail runs along the slope to the right below the Needles in a 2 mile traverse. Wotans Throne is the hump at mid left, below and to the back of which is trail camp. The 96 switchbacks from trailcamp to trail crest and much of the traverse are directly behind the center ridge.
